After a dinosaur-like beast - awoken from undersea hibernation by atom bomb testing - ravages Tokyo, a scientist must decide if his similarly dangerous weapon should be used to destroy it.

When American reporter Steve Martin investigates a series of mysterious disasters off the coast of Japan, he comes face to face with an ancient creature so powerful and so terrifying, it can reduce Tokyo to a smoldering graveyard. Nuclear weapon testing resurrected this relic from the Jurassic age, and now it's rampaging across Japan. At night, Godzilla wades through Tokyo leaving death and destruction in his wake, disappearing into Tokyo Bay when his rage subsides. Coventional weapons are useless against him; but renowned scientist Dr. Serizawa has discovered a weapon that could destroy all life in the bay -- including Godzilla. But which disaster is worse, Godzilla's fury, or the death of Tokyo Bay?

Koji Kobayashi, a spotter for a Japanese fishing fleet crash lands his plane on a barren island. His best friend, Shoichi Tsukioka, manages to find him and lands his plane next to his so he can be rescued. The two pilots are shocked when they encounter two giant monsters and race back to Japan to inform the authorities. One of the monsters is recognized as a new Godzilla while the other creature is identified as prehistoric monster named Anguirus. Without the weapon that killed the original Godzilla, countermeasures are developed in an attempt to divert the monster away as it makes landfall in Osaka. Japan can only brace for tragedy as they have to suffer through the horror of Godzilla once more.

(Re-edited US Version) Eric Carter, a reporter for the United Nations, reports on a submarine which collides with an iceberg and frees Godzilla. The news of this soon leads to Mr. Tako, the chairman of a pharmaceutical company, to seek a monster of his own to generate publicity. He sends out an expedition to Farou Island where they discover the god of the island in the form of King Kong. The giant ape is capture and returned to Japan, upon which it escapes and heads off on a collision course straight towards Godzilla. The two rivals soon clash in a giant climatic battle.

Original Japanese version. Tako, advertising director of Pacific Pharmaceuticals, is frustrated by the low viewership of their sponsored documentary show. Realizing that he needs a more sensationalist approach, Tako orders two of his men, Sakurai and Furue, on an expedition to Faro Island to investigate a legendary monster called King Kong and exploit it for advertising. Just as the expedition is underway, Godzilla emerges from an iceberg and sets his sights towards Japan. A media frenzy is generated that steals the publicity away from Tako's own monster. As Kong is captured and hauled back to Japan, people begin to wonder which monster is stronger and capable of beating the other. Tako realizes the marketability of King Kong facing off against Godzilla as the two monsters are pitted against each other in the biggest wrestling match of all time.

Ryota is a young man searching for his missing brother Yata. He joins up with Nita and Ichino as they sneak on a ship supposedly belonging to Yoshimura, a career criminal escaping from the authorities. As the group sets sail, they are caught in a storm and attacked by a monstrous crustacean creature. Shipwrecked on Letchi Island, they find that the natives of Mothra's Infant Island have been enslaved by a terrorist organization called Red Bamboo. The terrorists force the natives process a juice that holds off the crustacean monster, Ebirah. The men meet up with a native escapee named Daiyo as they stumble upon Godzilla sleeping on the island. The groups sets up a plan to awaken Godzilla to defeat Red Bamboo terrorists and liberate the natives.

A plane spots Godzilla heading off to an island in the South Seas named Sollgel, with the monster seemingly being called there. Reporter Goro Maki soon stumbles on Sollgel and finds scientists conducting weather experiments to feed a growing global population. He soon discovers that the experiments have mutated mantises in giants named Kamacuras. As Maki explores the island, he finds a cast away woman named Saeko as the weather experiments inadvertently cause the mantises to grow even bigger. The mantises soon uncover a giant egg which contains a defenseless infant that is rescued by Godzilla. Maki and Saeko soon observe Godzilla adopt the infant as the monster learns to care for the child and raise it as one of his own.

Coming to Earth on a fallen meteorite, The microscopic alien life-form Hedorah feeds on Earth's pollution and grows into a Gigantic, ever Evolving, poisonous Gas and acid-secreting monster. Godzilla, Earth's Defender senses the Threat and Meets ''the Smog Monster'' in a Literal, Battle for Earth's Survival.

A submarine expedition to salvage the remains of Mechagodzilla is thwarted by a massive dinosaur named Titanosaurus. Biologist Akira Ichinose is brought in by Interpol as an investigation is launched. Ichinose's inquiry leads to him to meet Katsura Mafune and uncover the work of her seemingly late father, Dr. Mafune, a brilliant scientist shunned by the scientific community. Dr. Mafune is revealed to be aligned with the Black Hole Aliens, who seek to unleash a reconstructed Mechagodzilla along with Titanosaurus on Tokyo and defeat Godzilla. As Ichinose attempts to reach Katsura, her life becomes entwined resurrected machine.

The underground kingdom of Seatopia sends out Megalon, a giant beetle, and Gigan to destroy the above ground dwellers. In an attempt to stop them, an independently thinking robot brings Godzilla into the fight.

Aliens from space plan to conquer the world using space monsters Gigan and King Ghidrah, which they control from their secret headquarters inside the head of the Godzilla-replica building at a theme park. The only thing that can stop them is the combined efforts of Godzilla and Anguirus.

A Japanese fishing vessel is making it's way though a fierce storm when a monster seems to be spotted. The remains of the vessel are found by reporter Goro Maki, who finds a lone survivor named Hiroshi Okumura. As Okumura recuperates, he meets with Goro and Dr. Hayashida and tells them that the creature he witness was none other than a resurrected Godzilla. Horrified by the news, it is nevertheless suppressed by the Japanese government to prevent a panic as political tensions increase between the United States and the Soviet Union. However, when Godzilla destroys a Soviet submarine, tensions only escalate as both nuclear superpowers are willing to bomb Japan to stop the monster.

A reporter investigates the disappearance of a ship. He finds the ship and discovers that all the hands have been killed by a giant sea louse except for one. The lone survivor then tells the reporter that the ship was attacked by Godzilla (Gojira). Fearing a panic, the Japanese government then takes the survivor into custody to keep him from revealing that Godzilla has returned. However, a Soviet nuclear submarine is destroyed and the situation puts them and the United States on the brink of nuclear war, until the Japanese decide to come clean and admit that it was Godzilla. Soon the Japan and the rest of the world are on red alert as they wait for Godzilla to begin his rampage anew.

Aliens intend to take over the planet and, just in case Godzilla tries to interfere, have built a mechanical version of him to put an end to his interference. The Earth humans summon the legendary King Seesar to assist Godzilla in the battle.

After the devastation of Godzilla's resurgence, a miniature arms race ensues to collect his cells. The cells are obtained by the middle eastern nation of Saradia, where geneticist Genichiro Shiragami is tasked to study them. However, the cells are sought by various groups leading to a terrorist attack that kills Dr. Shiragami's daughter Erika. As Shiragami retreats into isolation, the Japanese government sets it's sights on developing a bio weapon countermeasure against Godzilla should the monster ever be freed from its volcanic tomb. They enlist the aid of Dr. Shiragami, who's experiments result in a monstrous new mutation.

Time travellers from the 23rd century return to 1992 to warn Japan that Godzilla will cause a catastrophic nuclear incident in the 21st century and suggest a way to rid the world of him forever. They intend to go back to 1944, to Ragos Island, where a dinosaur was exposed to radiation from the Bikini H-Bomb test and became Godzilla. Upon completion of this task, King Ghidrah appears in 1992 and the visitors' true plan is discovered. They wish to destroy Japan so it will not become the dominant economic force. Luckily for the Japanese, Godzilla was still created and will now fight Ghidrah.

The United Nations assembles the ultimate weapon to defeat Godzilla, while scientists discover a fresh pteranodon egg on a remote Japanese island.

When Mothra went into outer space to stop a meteor from reaching Earth, she accidentally took with cells from Godzilla and remaining cells from Biollante that inhabited our atmosphere. The combined cells went through a black hole and created a new creature, Space Godzilla. Space Godzilla heads to Earth to confront Godzilla, Junior Godzilla, and the new G-Force robot, MOGERA.

Journalists Ichiro Sakai and Junko Nakanishi cover the wreckage of a typhoon when an enormous egg is found by local villagers. The pair joins up with Professor Miura and discover that the egg has been sold off to Mr. Kumayama of Happy Enterprises. Backed by the greedy Jiro Torahata, the businessmen seek to commercially exploit the egg. Mothra's fairies soon arrive and are aided by the journalists in a plea for the egg's return to Mothra and Infant Island. As their requests are denied, Godzilla emerges from the typhoon wreckage and heads toward Nagoya. Having lost their good will, Sakai, Junko, and Miura must make a plea of their own to Mothra and the people of Infant Island to help save Japan from Godzilla.

Something has destroyed Birth Island, home of Godzilla and Little Godzilla and soon, it is discovered that Godzilla has developed a bright flaming glow, indicating that his nuclear energy is growing out of control. Fearing that Godzilla will soon explode, the G-Force tries to freeze him, thus cooling his temperature. But another problem arises as a horde of human sized creatures, formed from a combination of Godzilla cells, and the weapon that destroyed the original one, The Oxygen Destroyer. Now the military must try to stop these creatures and stop Godzilla from going through a nuclear meltdown that could destroy the world.

In the wake of extensive nuclear testing in the South Pacific Ocean, the low-profile scientist, Niko Tatopoulos, is summoned by the U.S. Army to shed light on the mysterious attack on a fishing ship, and the ominous sightings of a gargantuan sea-dragon. Before long, a mutated scaly nightmare in the shape of Godzilla--a massive and all-powerful radioactive sauroid--threatens to level the rain-soaked New York City, against the backdrop of a crippling bureaucracy and the military's futile attempts to stop the invincible beast from the ocean. Now, it's up to Niko; the cryptic insurance agent, Philippe; the determined reporter, Audrey, and her brave cameraman, Victor, to put an end to Godzilla's reign of terror before it's too late. Is there a reason why Godzilla has chosen Manhattan for its den?

Godzilla returns in a brand-new movie that ignores all preceding movies except for the original with a brand new look and a powered up atomic ray. This time he battles a mysterious UFO that later transforms into a mysterious kaiju dubbed Orga. They meet up for the final showdown in the city of Shinjuku.

Japan creates an artificial black hole device to trap Godzilla forever, but a test of the device creates new foes for Godzilla, car-sized dragonflies called meganula and their queen, Megaguirus.

To protect Japan from yet another monster attack, this time from a new and malevolent member of the Godzilla (Gojira) species, the Japanese government creates a human-piloted cyborg, codenamed Kiriyu, using the skeleton of the original Godzilla (Gojira) that attacked Japan in 1954.

A kamikaze pilot plagued by survivor's guilt seeks redemption when a giant monster he failed to kill is transformed by radiation from atomic bomb tests and lays siege to post-war Japan.

The Earth is headed for disaster and when an archeological research team visits Infant Island to find out why, they discover two tiny women who reveal that the Earth is fighting back for all the harm humans have done here and sends out the evil Battra to destroy us. The Cosmos, as the girls are called, offer their help by calling Mothra to battle the creature. Unfortunately, Godzilla also appears and a three way battle begins that threatens to destroy Japan.

Strange incidents occur when an American submarine has been destroyed by a mysterious force at sea off the shores of Guam. Only Admiral Tachibana was certain that behind the disaster was none other than the destructive King of the Monsters, Godzilla! 50 years after his attack on Tokyo in 1954, Godzilla has mysteriously returned to life to destroy Japan, and General Tachibana, whose parents died in the monster's destructive wake, was prepared for his return to protect Japan from yet another tragic disaster, but is dismissed by the overly confident Japanese government, who underestimate Godzilla's power. But to further prove Tachibana's claim, his daughter Yuri, who works for the TV news program "Digital Q," investigates strange phenomena in three separate areas in Japan (two of which involve the deaths of immoral youths), and meets a mysterious old man named Isayama, who proclaims that aside from his infamous nuclear origins, Godzilla is an accumulation of vengeful souls (of both Japanese and non-Japanese) abandoned to die in the Pacific War, and thus, mere weapons cannot kill him. While Tachibana has now been vindicated by the government, Isayama awakens the Three Sacred Guardian Beasts of Yamato, which protected Japan in its ancient past, and were then put into hibernation in the aforementioned three areas of Japan. The three monsters, King Ghidorah (sky), Mothra (water) and Baragon (earth), fight the ravaging Godzilla, while Tachibana also prepares to go into battle against his old radioactive nemesis . . .

Forty-two years after her first visit in Tokyo, Mothra returns to warn mankind that they must return Mechagodzilla, along with Godzilla's bones, to the sea, for the dead must not be disturbed. If not, dire consequences will follow. However, Godzilla is once again on the rampage, and Mechagodzilla is Japan's only defense.

When the aliens Xilians invade Earth, they release monsters to destroy the big cities. The Earth Defense Force formed by mutants is incapable to defeat the creatures. Commander Douglas Gordon decides to unleash Godzilla that has been trapped for many years to fight against the monsters. Godzilla becomes the last hope on Earth to vanquish the monsters and the powerful monster x/ Keizer Ghidorah

In 1999, the Janjira nuclear plant was mysteriously destroyed with most hands lost including supervisor Joe Brody's colleague and wife, Sandra. Years later, Joe's son, Ford, a US Navy ordnance disposal officer, must go to Japan to help his estranged father who obsessively searches for the truth of the incident. In doing so, father and son discover the disaster's secret cause on the wreck's very grounds. Years into the future and the human race has been defeated several times by the new ruling force of the planet: "kaijus". And the ruler of that force is Godzilla, The King of the Monsters. Following their crushing defeat at the hands of Godzilla Earth, Haruo Sakaki and his allies encounter a mysterious aboriginal tribe descended from the humans left behind on Earth 20,000 years ago, and uncover a mechanized city-sized fortress formed from the long-lost anti-Godzilla weapon Mechagodzilla.
